Using “Lens” as part of social networking

There have been so many “lens” websites that have been set up in recent years, and the question of how to effectively use ‘social networking’ has never really been answered. I’m not here to offer up the golden nugget of a definitive answer (if one indeed actually exists), but what I can offer is one possible solution that may be worth following up. I discovered an edu (educational website) based at Harvard University called “H20”. It’s aim is to “...represent a new way of thinking about education online.” It basically allows people to post reading lists so that other people interested in the same subject can go straight to relevant information as recommended by the maker of the list.

To be honest, I think it is an excellent idea! So as an experiment to see how it works, I have created a list of something I am interested in. I keep an eye on property as that is where I see my retirement fund ultimately coming from, so I have created a HIP’s reading list here.

As to the outcome within the internet, I have yet to find out, but I suspect that I may have stumbled over a real nice way to add value to the internet whilst creating links to the network I consider my ‘friends’ as it were!
